(Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)Georgia, the favorite in the SEC East, is coming off of one of the biggest upset losses of the year. The Dawgs fell to South Carolina in double overtime, a loss that doesn’t really have a major impact in the team’s ceiling, in reality, but calls into question its ability to score against top defenses. Next up: a chance to bounce back against Kentucky.South Carolina managed to hold Georgia to four yards per carry, and put them game in Jake Fromm’s hands. He didn’t deliver. The junior threw for under six yards per attempt, despite chucking the ball 51 times in the game. He was also intercepted three times, a career high for the vaunted signal caller.Georgia should have a prime bounceback opportunity this weekend against Kentucky, which has had some expected regression from last season’s 10-win team. The Wildcats have started to figure some things out though. UK is coming off of a 24-20 win over Arkansas, in which Lynn Bowden channeled former do-it-all Kentucky star Randall Cobb. The quarterback was 7-of-11 through the air for 78 yards and a score, but really diced up the Razorbacks on the ground, with 196 yards and two scores. Bowden now has 643 total yards on the ground and as a receiver this year, with 117 passing at quarterback.Game 7 Trailer | One City #ATD #GoDawgs pic.twitter.com/73vpEzlURE— Georgia Football (@GeorgiaFootball) October 18, 2019More on Saturday’s game:Game Time: Saturday, 6:00 p.m. ETChannel: ESPNSpread: Georgia -25Over/Under: 46.5Announcers: Jason Benetti, Rod Gilmore, Quint KessenichGeorgia was a big favorite over South Carolina as well, but this should be a step down in opponent. The Gamecocks beat the Wildcats a few weeks ago, 24-7.Kentucky is just 3-3 on the year, and was dealt a very tough hand early on with the season-ending injury to starting quarterback Terry Wilson in early September. The Wildcats are a pretty middling club on both sides of the ball, while Georgia is usually very successful playing its game, last week’s disappointment aside. Expect to see a very motivated Bulldogs team that knows that if it wins out and heads to the SEC Championship, a national title very much remains in the picture.last_img read more
