This has been a long standing issue for the people of Buncrana and North Inishowen but it now appears as if we are approaching an end game with the construction of a new bridge finally in sight.“I would like to pay tribute to everyone in the local community who played a part in the advancement of this project over the last number of years and indeed to representatives from all parties who have worked together to secure funding for this project. “In particular, I want to acknowledge my party’s local representatives who have worked tirelessly in their roles to campaign for a new bridge, in particular Cllr. Rena Donaghey, and also former town Councillors Joe Doherty and James Gill.“It is a great day for Buncrana and North Inishowen as a whole. I will now be seeking that the work on the bridge is undertaken without delay, and will be calling on the Government to outline a construction plan and timeline.“This project has been on the shelf for years and we must now ensure that it progresses in a timely manner on foot of today’s announcement”.VICTORY ON THE RIVER CRANA: McCONALOGUE PRAISES CAMPAIGNERS was last modified: June 11th, 2015 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:bridgeCharlie McConalogueCockhilllast_img read more
