Greeted by warmth and comfort at Ellis

first_imgCategories: Letters to the Editor, OpinionI wanted to share with you my experience at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. My friend needed outpatient surgery. As we arrived at the hospital, we made use of the free valet parking. The young man was very friendly, explained the process, and opened the door to the hospital. Since she was pre-registered, we went directly to the welcome center. There we were greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable young lady, who also was very warm and friendly. Within a few minutes, we were greeted by another nursing assistant, who identified herself and walked us to the pre-op,area, where we were again greeted by a nurse. Her name was Mickey. She was warm and friendly, putting my friend at ease and keeping us laughing. Dr. Ford, our wonderful and talented surgeon, came in and explained the procedure. We felt very confident that all would be well. Overall, the nursing staff and, of course, Dr. Ford, made a stressful experience very easy and comfortable. Ellis Hospital has changed a lot in the past few years, and all for the better. Many thanks to Dr. Ford and all the nurses and aides that made this visit easy.Marty ShantyCharltonMore from The Daily Gazette:EDITORIAL: Urgent: Today is the last day to complete the censusEDITORIAL: Beware of voter intimidationEDITORIAL: Thruway tax unfair to working motoristsFoss: Should main downtown branch of the Schenectady County Public Library reopen?EDITORIAL: Find a way to get family members into nursing homeslast_img
