Sony teases virtual couch as PS4 passes 10 million console sales

first_imgMORE THAN 10 MILLION Playstation 4 consoles have been sold worldwide, according to Sony.Announcing the new figure at Gamescom 2014, this figure is almost double the amount it sold back in February, where it sold 5.3 million. The company had originally sold 4.2 million consoles in 2013.The company also announced that Share Play, a feature which allows any PSN friend jump into your games and play them as long as they’re a Playstation Plus subscriber, will arrive during the autumn. The company likened it to a “virtual couch” where your friend can help out remotely without owning the game.Microsoft also held its own press conference for Xbox One as well, but instead of announcing sales data, it revealed a number of titles including the new Tomb Raider game Rise of the Tomb Raider and Below, both exclusive to the console.
